Harpy #MonsterGirls For the month of October, I’m doing the Monster Girl Challenge. Not all 30 but about half in the run up to Halloween. This is less ‘Harpy’ more half bird / half girl. Major influence for my girls is Chris Sanders, so looking forward to The Croods!

Day 16 - Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde.This was totally influenced by the artist Stephanie Laberis. I like the worried little professor, but for Mr.Hyde I went for an ‘Inner child’ response.

Day 15 - Medusa. Totally influenced by Loish. I love her style. For Medusa; I needed to do something different for her character so I chose to have one giant snake for her hair. As more of a companion as all her other friends turned to stone.

Day 13 & 14 - Frankenstein and his Bride. I like Frankenstein as more animalistic, so for his design I went with a gorilla influence. Then I tried to add the bride, but the big hair just made her look like Marge Simpson/ anyways I gave up.

Day 12 - Mummy. With this I kinda went for a more Scooby Doo monster design. I like this guy, I tried to draw him with only his bandages; like his eyebrows and mouth. I also tried to hint without bandages he is hollow - the comic end to this notorious villain.

Day 11 - Igor. This is a cheap out I know. I wanted to draw an Igor and since I’ve watched the film. It’s all I could think about. This is a sketch of him from a sketchbook.

Day 10 - Fairy. I wanted to draw something a bit nicer today. Tried a different technique with this one too; it’s good for somethings, not for others. But I like her hair.

Day 9 - Grim. A quick sketch for today. I love his character, he’s quite cool and cute. I’m sure many actually wouldn’t mind meeting this guy.

Day8 - Corpse Bride. A little different today I decided to try a speedpaint instead, not speedy enough. Can’t beat Tim Burton at Halloween.

Day 7 - Samara. Probably my most modern villain of my countdown. I made her dress out of television static, maybe a lil too subtle.

Day 5 - Big Bad Wolf. This is my favourite so far. It did start as a Werewolf but I felt the urge to tweak. This is Red and the littlest pig ready for battle, but who will win?
